Seminole Classic Casino is honored to announce receiving the 2026 Green Visionary Award for Sustainable Development Leadership by the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce during their annual Sustainability luncheon held on Friday, August 21, at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Fla.

The annual Green Visionary Awards recognize individuals, businesses and organizations demonstrating outstanding leadership in sustainability through innovative practices and environmental strategies that reduce waste, lower carbon emissions and address plastic pollution.

Through its Save the Planet Committee, Seminole Classic Casino has implemented employee-driven food waste diversion and glass recycling programs designed to incorporate sustainability into the property’s daily operations.

In less than one year, Seminole Classic Casino diverted 47,553 pounds of organic waste and 9,701 glass bottles from landfills. The initiatives generated an environmental impact equivalent to planting 313 tree seedlings, eliminating 47,172 miles of driving and conserving 2,139 gallons of gasoline. The resulting energy savings were also sufficient to charge more than 1.25 million smartphones. The results reflect its ongoing commitment to reducing waste and improving environmental sustainability.

Seminole Classic Casino also participates in the Global Sound Waves Innovation Challenge and other Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock Save the Planet initiatives that empower Team Members to develop practical solutions addressing environmental and social needs.
